Furuno FA70 AIS System - Class B+ & SOTDMA

The Furuno FA70 AIS System is a complete Class B+ (SOTDMA) AIS that transmits vessel information at faster rates and more powerfully than existing Class B units for added awareness. It is a critical enhancement in congested waterways or during periods of limited visibility or heavy seas. Information such as vessel name and call sign, position, course, and speed are graphically presented, allowing you to monitor vessel traffic easily. The FA70 even has its own internal Hi-Accuracy GPS Receiver with WAAS differential (DGPS) capability, ensuring that you're transmitting the highest precision information.

The FA70 is a compact and lightweight system that offers a wider range and faster transmit performance than other AIS systems. It features a silent mode with an optional ON/OFF switch, switchable SO-TDMA and CS-TDMA, and an internal VHF splitter that eliminates the need for a separate antenna. The system also has a NMEA2000 port, 2x NMEA0183 ports, and a USB (micro B) port. The initial setup can be done through the NMEA2000 network (TZT2/TZT3).

The standard built-in VHF Antenna Splitter allows the FA70 to share your VHF Radio's antenna, making installation simple. Note that the FA70 is a transmitting device and requires an AIS VHF Compatible Antenna just like any Class B+, Class B, or Class A AIS system.
